Is it safe to use my credit card to make purchases on our Website?
We offer secure online shopping which means that all products on our site can be ordered online using Netscape Navigator�� or Microsoft Internet Explorer�� (web browsers that support secure transactions). Your online order is placed using a secure transaction server that will encrypt the order for security. If you are using a browser that doesn't support secure transactions, you can place your order by telephone, fax, or regular mail. Please note that if you should see a padlock at the bottom of your window when placing your order, if you do not please contact us.
Which parts of The Moccasin Shop are secure?
The portion our site we've made secure is the checkout area. This area of the website is where you actually purchase the items you've put into your Shopping Cart. The entire checkout process, from the introduction to seeing your final confirmation, takes place in a secure environment.
There are several ways to confirm that you're in a secure area. All SSL capable browsers have a symbol to indicate a secure mode, which is usually located in the lower right or lower left corner of the browser. Specifically, the symbol could be a "closed" lock or "complete" key (vs. an "open" lock or "broken" key which would indicate normal or "insecure" mode).
You can also tell when you're in a secure area because the URL to the left of the colon changes from "http" to "https" to signify that a SSL protocol is being used to communicate with the server (http = HyperText Transport Protocol; https = HTTP with SSL). In most browsers you'll also see a solid blue line in the upper portion of the browser's window which is another visual aid indicating you're browsing a secure area.
Most of the activity on our site involves the viewing of content we've prepared and made accessible to all visitors, so there is no need for these pages to be "secure." With a product page, for example, no security risk exists because there is no information being exchanged.
We will protect your privacy. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information such as your name, purchase or email information to others. Under no circumstances will we sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others.
We may use our customer's email addresses to confirm orders, update order information and to notify you of anything else pertaining to your order. If you are interested we will also use your email address as a means to update you with respect to sale events and special notice.

All new purchases may be returned for exchange up to 30 days after the original invoice date. Please include a check with your exchange request for $9.95 made payable to the Moccasin Shop or permission to recharge your credit card��to cover return shipping costs to you.
Keep in mind that the above listed costs cover shipping within the continental 48 states only and exchange shipping charges for extended US or international addresses are on a cost plus basis which must be agreed upon and paid for��before return shipment can be made.
All new purchases returned for exchange beyond 30 days after the original purchase date will be charged a $3.50 handling��fee per pair which will be added to the return shipping charges of $9.95 as stated above. A check for $13.45 made payable to The Moccasin Shop would then be required or permission to recharge your credit card to cover return shipping costs to you.
Please review the brief exchange instructions on your merchandise return form which was included with your new purchase.
We regret that you have found it necessary to return your new purchase to us. If there is anything we may do to help you, please call our toll free line at 1 888 550 5535 and one of us will help if we can.
Please remember the following when deciding to return your new purchase.��All purchases must be returned for refund within 30 days from the original purchase date. All refunds should be processed within 20 working days from date of receipt by the receiving department.
All purchases that are returned��more than��30 days after the original purchase date will be issued a store credit only which you may use at our web site www.themoccasinshop.com
All purchases that are returned after 45 days of the original purchase date can not be accepted.
Please remember that all shipping charges are the customers responsibility and if your original order was over $80.00 and you received free shipping you will be charged the actual shipping fee if you return any or all items that reduce your original order to less than $80.00
A $3.50 rehandling fee will be charged for each pair of moccasins returned. This fee will be deducted from the actual credit issued
This fee is charged to us by our manufacturers and not a fee imposed by us.

Keep in mind when using UPS special shipping options such as: Next day air, overnight, second day or three day select services etc that UPS does not consider the package pick up day as the first day in their timetable and in addition do not work week ends or Mondays if a holiday falls on a week end. Use discretion when ordering or call for clarification.
